Ride for the Cure

Part of the HSBC Team

The teams that raised the most funds on The Ride to Conquer Cancer® were invited to the BC Cancer Agency for an info session. Four research doctors from different fields talked about their work and how the money raised will be put to use. It was a very interesting event. BC is one of the leaders in cancer research, but we all still have far to go.

Small world

We were invited with two other friends at Grahme and Mylène's. As we reach their house we were told that there will be two other guests present. One from Switzerland and one from Germany. When I asked Ralph from Switzerland were he's from he responds Zug. Well, he is actually from Baar. His father used to be the Braumeister at Baarerbräu and now his brother is holding that position.

Kiss

Randy Savage
Klaus and I went for a drink across the street on our way home. Eventually Jane the barmaid says, here comes my boyfriend. It was a young dude in cutoff jeans, a leather vest and long hair. So we asked him why he's not at the concert. It was obvious that he was from out of town and only here for the Kiss concert. His response was: "the concert is over". The concert over at 9:00..? He then mentioned something of having had a seat in row 14 but fuck that so he went to the stage. Well, we gathered that he was removed from the stadium because he was too drunk to understand that he can not stand by the stage and has to go back to his seat, otherwise "the concert is over". We had a few good laughs.
The next day we went for a nightcap and Jane told us that Randy Savage (his real name was Tyler something and he is from Victoria) was with a bunch of really pretty girls. I guess the girls were able to report how the concert was.

The season started early this year

A Christmas Carol

This was my first 3D experience. The movie was beautifully illustrated especially the outdoor scenes. The entire movie was also kept very dark which always relates to the mid 18-hundreds so well.

He could have been her birthday gift...

Outside a bar in Gastown LLB tries to locate her friends in order for us to hook up with them. I take pictures of the one house and she is on the phone when Matt from Ontario joined us. He was not quite sober anymore. So LLB, always the caring one, asks him if he is ok. Do you have problems with a girl? Do you have problems with a boy? No problems with girls or boys. He was looking for a bar. LLB suggests the one across the street as it has great drinks and lots of chicks. No, that's not what he was looking for. So she suggests Granville Street, lots of bars there. Then Matt from Ontario says: I have to be honest with you now, I am looking for a bar with cougars. Then LLB bursts out: in that case, go to Yaletown! Go to Glowbal! It's full of cougars..!

She then hailed the next cab, told the cabby to drive Matt from ON to Yaletown... Who the heck sends a birthday gift on his way?

Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever... it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.
