This year's Christmas tree is a homage to Klaus' German heritage. I bought three boxes of old Lauscha glass balls recently on eBay. Furthermore I added Schokoladenkränze (not seen on this image). For quite a number of years did I try to find the recipe of my favorite childhood cookies. Several times I went through the cookbooks at dad's place but was unsuccessful. I then posted a note on my message board and a while back somebody sent me her recipe. I tried it out and was a bit shocked by the sweetness of the cookies. But in the meantime I have adjusted the recipe and even made a variation of it. It will all be revealed in next year's Advent calendar. [ back to top ] Wednesday, December 5, 2007 At Lost Lagoon

Today we went to the Homes for the Holidays. It's a tour of five houses in Shaughnessy. The event raises funds for the Kids Help Phone. I thought it would be a business trip where I could take many images of great decorations. But of course visitors were not allowed to photograph. The Christmas decorations were actually not that special. But the houses were fabulous!
In the late afternoon I went to English Bay and shoot some winter pictures. It was gorgeous! I hope the snow lasts until tomorrow. It was a special day. [ back to top ] |
