Moving V

So we decided at the eleventh hour to not go through with the purchase of the leaky Yaletown condo. After having read the strata minutes, legal documents, and the building enveloped assessment report we decided to abandon the place. We knew the building is one of Vancouver's leaky condo buildings. But what we only realized this morning is that our share of fixing it would have been almost as much as we paid eight years ago for our little place her on Kent Avenue.

Moving III

bedroom
We had our first showings today. Apparently 3 parties went through the apartment and 2 of them are coming back tomorrow. We also have more people come to look at the place tomorrow.
When one of the two real estate agents we have came with the staging expert on Monday, our place looked a mess. On top of everything the bed was not even made. So today that same real estate agent came to do the showing. He later reported to Klaus and said he could not believe how much work we did in such a short time.
Selling a place is all about trying to sell a lifestyle. The lazier one is with cleaning and presenting the place the less interest one generates and the less money one makes.
We rented a storage place close by which is now packed to the rafters. Almost all pictures were removed, half the bookshelf emptied, all clutter removed, and closets cleaned out. We gave away a lot of furniture. The bathroom was repainted and grouted.

We have a laborious week behind us cleaning out our apartment and getting it ready for viewings. We will have prospective buyers come Saturday and Sunday. I really hope by Monday the place is sold as we are already tired of living in a show home. City we are coming!

Moving I

We had the most popular real estate agent for our part of the city here yesterday. We talked about selling our home and then buying a new place in the city. It all sounded exiting and it looks like we will even move before our summer vacation.
Tonight I got home from work and our place was already listed!

Hidden desires

facebook
Only today I noticed I have a hidden desire. This may be the reason why guys who I don't know want to be friends with me.
I created a profile on facebook because I wanted to see what the hype was all about. Now I am checking on a daily basis what the kids from work are up to in their spare time.

Ja aber nei au!

Götti und ich
Heute erhielt ich folgende Email:
Liebe Esther

Silvia

This shot was taken with the Sony T100. My F-828 has a spot in the lens which translates into the images. I am distraught..! I hope it can be fixed.

Keep the momentum going

After a trying day at work I feel like passing the frustration on to somebody else.
A week ago I came across another loser website: ajour toujours - Die Leihkultur. I sent some emails to them because they just took my image and graphics.
Hi there,

I have to ask you to immediately remove all images and graphics taken from any of our websites!

It costs a lot of money and time to take pictures and create graphics. Just because it is on the Internet does not give you the right to just take it. Out of curtsey people usually ask for permission. That obviously does not seem to be customary in your business environment. As a matter of fact you did not even have the decency to give credit!

Of course noby reacted to it. I will now have to send an invoice for my work to the owner of the domain and cc the developers. The owner will be given until the end of June to pay. If she ignores my invoice I will have no choice but to send emails to the entire published client list of the people who produced the website. Their client list is quite impressive it even includes two law firms :) and a newspaper.

RE: Copyright infringement on www.die-leihkultur.de

Ms Schnack,

Last week I came across some of my work on a website that lists you as the domain name owner. On the following page one of my photographs and five drawings are published without my consent: http://www.die-leihkultur.de/servietten.php4.

Because I was never asked for permission I have sent emails to the following email addresses found on Die Leihkultur website asking the people to immediately remove my work: info@die-leihkultur.de; kontakt@verhooren.de; info@ef-a.de; info@kommunikatisten.de.

Since my request has been ignored until today I have to assume that your company wants to keep my work. I thank you for that. But as we all know shooting photographs and creating graphics takes a lot of time and costs money. I will therefore take the liberty to include an invoice for my work. Please submit US$88.80 to my PayPal account no later than June 30, 2007. Once payment has been received I send you the original files of the photograph and the drawings.

If you are interested in more of my work please feel free to contact me.

Please consider this the last friendly correspondence.

Regards,
es

I really think I should get a lawyer in Germany that specialize in online copyright law. I could be rich!

Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever... it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.
