Impressions from a dinner with Schatzi

Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver - Yew Restaurant

When Klaus came to Canada in 1993 he started work at the Four Seasons Hotel. We actually never eat there as the place was kind of stuck in a past era. Until today. YEW is a beautifully designed restaurant, the food was out of this world and the waiter extremely CHARMING.

Being a home owner

As a home owner I like to check out the competition and see were we are standing in regards of how much the place is worth.
Yesterday I went through a real estate agent's website because he has an apartment in our building for sale. And then I noticed that the place below us is for sale as well. This is the building manager's suite and he wants $100,000 more than what we paid 7 months ago!!!
Now of course the waiting game is on. The housing market has slowed down and in certain areas of the Lower Mainland prices even went down. We are definitely not worried about a decrease in value as we are in a top location. But of course the selling price of 510 is a number we anxiously await…

Snow day

Mount Seymour

I took a "snow day" today and drove up to Mount Seymour. There was not much traffic going up my favorite mountain as the conditions were more for 4x4s and not for my 2x2... I then decided not to drive to the top either as I had no desire to get stuck in the snow. Nevertheless I managed to get my fill of winter wonderland impressions.

The distance to Mount Seymour is about 28 km one way from downtown. It is part of our local mountain range and outdoor play area. Considering that the peak has an elevation of only 1,449 meters the weather conditions up there can be as harsh as on any mountain in the alps. A good example are these images that were taken within about half an hour.

Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever... it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.
