Outside the Vancouver Art Gallery

Jeff Ladouceur
Canadian artist Jeff Ladouceur’s massive inflatable sculpture Floater spans the columns of the Vancouver Art Gallery’s Georgia Street façade.
Art Gallery fountain
This is the fountain behind the gallery. Somebody threw a bottle of dishwasher soap into the water. It all looked like a massive bathtub filled with foam. It was quite magical.

Finally!

For the past 2 years I was contemplating weather or not to buy a digital SLR. So today I did some research on what kind of cameras my favorite Flickr contacts use. I noticed that most use either a Canon EOS or a Nokia. Since I never owned a Nokia I dismissed that brand.
Off I went to check on models and prices for Canons.
On the way to the camera store was a Sony store...

The store

Starting a business in downtown Vancouver is not easy unless one has deep pockets or is slightly naïve. The store rents are almost out of reach for a small startup. I have not yet made my final decision but it very much looks like I will be buying an existing store in South Vancouver. This would be a low risk venture and I would not have to run after clients from day one and beg them to give me their business. There would be an established customer base, enough to pay the bills. The current owners have not spent any money in advertising, as a matter of fact I spend more to promote the Christmas Magazine (!). This means that there is huge potential.
Of course the biggest downside is that I will still have to drive to work. I will need the car to go and visit clients. But saving all the money on rent I think the Autohaus has something to ease the pain:

I guess opening a business is like buying your first home: it will not be everything you want. One has to start out small and build a solid foundation. Once established, one can expand the horizon.

Here's another beauty I would love to own: 1985 Mercedes Benz 500 SL

Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever... it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.
